This Friday the Rahway Fighting Indians take on Mount Olive in the first round of the Group 4 playoffs. #2 Seed Rahway will have their hands full as this isn’t as typical #7 seed. 4-3 M.O is ranked one spot higher than 8-1 Rahway in “power rankings” which I assume takes into account strength of opponent.

I still remember my last two games pretty vividly 15 years ago. Our loss at Rumson was so devastating, and our win in overtime vs Clark was bittersweet. Truth is, I didn’t love playing because well, I was undersized and weak … I love so much about the chess match of the game, the athleticism and war of the game, and the gossip of the game. I tried, but playing wasn’t exactly my strength. But when it was over it was just heartbreaking. All the effort, all the comradery, all the moments, now just memories. So good luck Rahway, especially the seniors, live those moments so there’s no regrets when they are simply just memories.

Two weeks in a row we go positive! A 3-1 read after an 11.5 point fav I backed got smoked outright. The next hurdle is to get to positive in the college side, and keep on stacking! I love ball, I lived ball, I am ball … BUT I’M NOT A CAPPER.

UCF +2.5 v Baylor

I have two factors working against me here. UCF letdown spot after upsetting #2 BYU, and a Baylor boost after firing their coach. Yet, I trust Scott Frost to have a hard week of practice and keep his team inline. The veteran coach had his fair share of strong wins over his career, and I expect UCF to keep the wins coming. Since switching QBs, Keyone Jennings has thrown for 9 touchdowns to 2 interceptions against power four teams, and these numbers include three straight ranked matchups. UCF is more balanced now and have a very solid O. Leading RB Duke Watson is averaging 6.8 yards per carry! Kansas RB had 30 carries for 156 yards last week, so I expect similar yardage for Watson. The reason I’m not buying the team boost post firing was because there was no need for Baylor to fire their coach. You’re Baylor, you’ve had a few good years but this is a 7-5 roster. They lost to Auburn and Kansas by 1 point. And they panic and fire their coach. Bad vibes, panicked vibes. Let’s go Bounce House let’s go UCF.

Jaguars

Jags won the bye week! The AFC South went 0-3 and now the Colts are burning it down and selling. Those Colts travel to Jacksonville this week where the Jags have to handle business and get another dominant win. The Jags have done a good job in the Coen era of beating up on bad teams. September 21 2014. That’s the last time the Colts won in Jacksonville. Off a bye handle business and look for the trade market. Zach Sieler, I’m looking at you! Let’s get the defensive tackle out of Miami. An edge or an offensive tackle would be nice, but the Jaguars need to address DT. BTJ …. Please keep giving that effort blocking and stretching the field. I think you’re staying in Jacksonville. A Super Bowl contender cannot trade away pieces mid season, handle that before the NFL draft. DUUUVAL!

Lions -3 vs Vikings

I just don’t respect the 6-0 Vikings. They are going to blitz the mess out of Goff which is sort of worrisome but this is #DomeGoff we’re talking about! Dude loves playing with no elements. In four complete games, Kyler Murray has only thrown for three touchdowns. Sure there’s a run game, but I don’t think that will cut it vs a Lions offense. Last week was the Lions first week under 30 points. Again, this Vikings defense is the truth, but give me Lions in a bounce back. In Justin Jefferson’s last 15 games he’s averaging 49.86 yards … think about that! Going back to 11/2/25 he’s averaging under 50 yards. The Vikings are a fade team for me for the time being.
