BOOM! Felt real good to go 2-0 in NFL. That Florida miss feels gross, they got BEAT DOWN, but 3-1 on the week works. Just have to keep seeing the board and trusting my eyes.
I loveeee what GKFlo and The Sheet are doing this season for College Football. GK is giving out free content, five to ten plays a week, and his locks are 8-3! He also keeps inspiring me, making me think of my “why” as I grind through blog posts. Sport is healthy, it’s entertainment and a great outlet to debate. Life is hard and I’m choosing to know and love ball while everything else falls in line. I started my blog as a young and lost 23ish year old boy, and now I’m 32 with a four month old at home! My father wrote in a local paper as Professor Pickem, and maybe one day Cameron will give his football thoughts! Maybe he won’t even like ball, but if he does, you best believe I will teach him everything I know. Football calms him down. When he’s in his bouncy and a game is on he is LOCKED IN. Football is violent but beautiful. It’s art, it’s war, and it’s teamwork. Thank you Football! My picks are never rushed but sometimes it’s hard to give my “why” when life gets in the way. Then I read The Sheet and I’m like “I got to do better next week.” So thank you G, keep shining and keep inspiring!
https://thesheetgkflo.substack.com/: Scene FiveI’m off to a once in a lifetime trip to Pinehurst for my cousin’s bachelor party. We’ll be playing #2 #4 #8 and #10! The golf game isn’t exactly where I want it due to my weight, but I can play a little and I certainly can bring vibes! Golf. Family. Friends. Dinners. Whiskey. Cigars. Golf’s Disney World is near pinnacle and I can’t wait.
rutgers
Thank you Coach Schiano. You’ve done so much for Rutgers Football over the 18 seasons. It’s over sadly. He stabilized us after the #AshEra but sadly most of that work disintegrated. The defense lost it’s way the last few years and Schiano can’t get the quarterback right. Athan fell into our lap with our OC taking him from Minnesota, but other than that it’s been bleak. I’ve heard all of the Brian Kelly noise. On one end, I hear he’s a reallllllll stand up person …….. but I just want to win! He’s 65 years old and I’m worried it’ll be a paycheck job where he’s checked out. I’ll throw a name out there and that’s UMass HC Joe Harasymiak. The former Rutgers DC is a Jersey guy, a young 40, and is turning around UMass. Again, I just want to win. Thank you Schiano, but I think this is the end of the road. CHOP!

Washington -3 v Iowa
After two tough defeats, I think Washington gets back on track. Iowa is off an emotional win of Michigan, and a physical defeat to Ohio State. Iowa needs their bye week, but it isn’t till after they travel to Washington. Iowa will try and muck this game up, but I trust the dual threat Demond Williams to make plays. He was sacked 12 times vs Minnesota and USC, an alarming number, but Iowa only has five sacks in it’s three power 4 games, and one vs a dual threat QB. Iowa is sound, but Washington’s speed mixed with their solid defense, should get back on track here.
Jaguars
After four weeks of the young NFL season, I think the Jaguars are the most COMPLETE team, not necessarily the best team. The Jaguars defense , led by mastermind Anthony Campanile, is a top 5 unit. They have forced a league high 6 turnovers, 3 of them interceptions in the redzone! The offense is top 10, arguably higher, led by MVP candidate Trevor Lawrence. TLaw is in a zone, dissecting the middle of the field like a surgeon. He’ll always have a boneheaded play once in a while like that knee on the 1 yard line v the Patriots, but as long as his defense keeps giving him extra possessions then the Jaguars will keep scoring. The Achilles heel of the offense and of the team is their interior offensive line. The Broncos exploited this 2H a few weeks ago, but Liam Coen can and has game planned around this. The Jaguars are top 10 in special teams, and I’d go top 3 but their kickoff team is weak, constantly letting teams start in good field position. Their long snapper is All-Pro, their punter ROCKS, and the combo of Parker Washington and Josh Cameron returning kicks and punts is a weapon. The Jaguars are complete, and I’m having a blast yelling DUUUVAL when they make plays.

Giants +3 at Commanders
The Giants head to DC where they’ll either face Jayden Daniels off of a 2 week absence, or the Baklava Bomber Athan Kaliakmanis. Terry McLaurin missed last game with a hammy, and sure he’s expected to play this weekend but hammy is a lingering issue. The Commanders rushing attack is non existent, and the Giants caught four interceptions their last two games. The Giants rushing attack has been slow themselves, but teams are torching the Commanders in the air! Teams are averaging 30.5 on this Dan Quinn led defense and Jameis Winston comes in putting up 36 on the Cardinals. John Harbaugh has kept his team afloat when Lamar Jackson would go down for the Ravens, and he’s keeping the Giants afloat with a legit chance of going 4-1 to start the season.

Chargers +3.5 v Broncos
Gross pick alert. I’ll go back to the well fading the Broncos. Last week was rough for them, they lost Pat Bryant on O, Pat Surtain will be out on D, and Riley Moss is questionable. The Broncos hung in there vs the Niners, and now have the most desperate Chargers in Los Angeles. The Broncos scored 10 and 14 points on the road, and might have a Bo Nix problem. Nix is only averaging 6 yards a completion and they aren’t utilizing Waddle down the field. The Broncos are a different team away from Mile High, and I’m giving the Chargers one more chance before pronouncing them ded.
