Saturday Sept 26 3:30PM
TCU -3 at UCF

Both of these teams dominated their Group of 5 matchups, and both struggled vs their Power 4 foe. TCU has high level O and D line play, and that’s where UCF struggles, getting bullied by Pitt only scoring 7 points. Jaden Craig is a high level QB for TCU and I think their offense will be too much for UCF. UCF starting QB will miss another game this week and their back up couldn’t crack 100 yards at home vs Georgia State. UCF is a more ground and pound team but TCU brings a great duo at linebacker and safety. UNC RB had 130 yards vs Clemson last week, and at the season opener vs TCU he had 36! I see a TCU runaway.

Jaguars -3 vs Patriots

Homer pick?! Maybe! But I love the Jaguars this weekend. Drake Maye is a great young QB but he’s struggled through two games throwing for 1 touchdown and 4 interceptions. His main target AJ Brown will still be out, and the Patriots are playing against a very opportunistic defense in Jacksonville. Last year they forced 33 turnovers, and through two weeks this year they forced 4. The Patriots will settle as the year goes on but I’m looking to strike iron while it’s hot and back a turnover hungry defense. The Jaguars have an OLine concern, and the Broncos capitalized last week especially in the second half with their blitz package. I don’t see this being a concern this weekend as the Pats D is good, not great. The signs point to the Jaguars playing how they played the first 6 quarters of football, where the second half vs the Broncos was more a mirage. Coach Liam Coen is figuring out the running back split and Trevor Lawrence is comfortable in his progressions. Duval by a tuddy Sunday.

Saints -3 VS Raiders

Love what the Raiders are doing this early part of the season, but I love what the Saints are doing more. The Raiders are well coached, and are really building something. They played the Dolphins (lol) week 1 and the lost Chargers week 2. This is their first real test and I’m not ready to back them on the road. Tyler Shough is in such a great system that while he might not be elite, he might lead the NFL in yards. Kellen Moore plays with pace, and the Raiders defense is still a work in progress. Their LT will not play which isn’t good news vs a Maxx Crosby, but Olave, and co should overwhelm their secondary. We can debate if the Saints won last week or if the Ravens blew it and lost, but either way they contained Derrick Henry. You contain Henry, you can contain Ashton Jeanty. Slow down Jeanty, put up some points, and not sure if the Raiders can keep up.
