Niners +7 – Miss.
Bears +3.5 – HIT!
Patriots -4.5 at Broncos o/u 42.5
MAN! Not only was Bills Broncos a bummer but now Bo Nix is hurt! And the Patriots luck out again lmaooooo it’s truly wild how easy their schedule was and add the playoff path and sheesh. Like they are good no doubt but it’s hilarious the luck they get. And will probably walk into the Super Bowl. Sean Payton can coach offense and this is year 3 of Stidham in this offense. He’ll know what to do. But it’s been like 2 years since he started a game. I expect the Broncos to score a great game-script opening drive then after that I’m not sure how much they can get. It’ll help that the Broncos have a stellar OLine vs this decent at best DLine of the Pats, but the Pats complex secondary I’m sure will confuse Stidham. Sean Payton is a nut and without data I just know he’s going to neglect RJ Harvey more than people expect, and will get Stidham working quick game and deep shots. Prop wise, I wouldn’t be racing to the window to take Harvey’s over rushing attempts. What I would look at is someone like Pat Bryant and or Marvin Mims longest reception which are both around 15 yards. In 2023 Stidham had two starts and had a 47 and 54 yard pass in those two.
I touched upon the Broncos defense last week and just don’t view it that highly. But, I think they can give the pass game of the Patriots some pause. Still, the Patriots have the duo of running backs and think they will be fine moving the ball. We did see the Pats OLine give up 10 sacks in two games vs Chargers and Texans. Still, they are so complete that they won both games handedly. I think Rhamondre Stevenson will continue his resurgence and run the Pats to victory. If the Broncos get their opening game-script touchdown like I’m predicting, I could see 20-17, but then again, the Patriots have dominated their (easier) schedule this season and I feel it would be foolish to bet the Broncos. No official play, but I do like Mims + Bryant longest reception 15+ and Rhamondre Stevenson to find the endzone with 50+ rushing yards.
Seahawks -2.5 v Rams o/u 47.5
The Rams win this game, and would’ve won week 16 v the Seahawks if Rashid Shaheed doesn’t run back a kick. Special teams matters! And in my opinion, all the Rams have to do is cover on special teams. They had week 16 in the bag and then BAM the game flipped on a dime. Matthew Stafford is the MVP and the offense is a powerhouse. I have great respect for the Seahawks – they dominated the Niners, have a top 5 offense and defense, but Matthew Stafford is a bad bad man. This capping style failed me Broncos vs Bills, but give me the QB I trust more.
Tangent paragraph! Sam Darnold went 14-3 last year on the Vikings, goes to a new team, and gets the Seahawks to a 1 seed, 14-3, and is in the NFC Championship game. Don’t be a Stephen A Smith non ball knower if Darnold throws an interception and text the group chats that he’s mid. It’s just not true at this point. He’s not a God, but unless the Seahawks win the Super Bowl this year he’ll get clowned by the agenda-heads.
Back to the game! Rams safety Quentin Lake being back is a big deal. The enforcer has 13 tackles and 2 pass break ups in the playoffs, and I think he’ll be a big impact Sunday. Overall, the Seahawks have been attacking the middle between Barner and Kupp as of late. JSN will get his, but the Rams will have to enforce the middle and slow down the complementary weapons. Darnold has thrown 4 touchdowns the last 5 games, and with Charbonnet ruled out, they will put the game more in his hands, while still using Ken Walker. All in all, I think the Rams offense will be too much for the Seahawks offense to match, when you add in Lake slowing down the Seahawks and no Charbonnet for the hard ugly yards. One quick nugget, Davante Adams has gone 4 games with no touchdowns, I expect the Rams to get their fair share and I expect Adams to find the endzone.
Recap:
Rams +2.5
Big games out of Rhamondre Stevenson + Davante Adams with touchdowns
Stidham throws his fair share of deep shots so over 15+ yards Mims and or Bryant longest reception
