“I’m Back.”
Southern Miss +1.5 vs Louisiana o/u 42
The Play: Southern Miss +1.5
Louisiana has been one of the best Fun Belt teams over the last few seasons but they are going up against a very good Southern Miss squad. Both teams starting quarterbacks have been hurt but Louisiana’s QB is now healthy. Their coach did say the backup will start but mentioned a short leash. Go with one guy and install confidence in him, but that’s not what Louisiana is doing. This defensive battle with shaky quarterback play will come down to who runs the ball better. Give me the home team and the workhorse in Frank Gore jr. He is averaging about 4.7 yards per carry in Fun Belt action and can handle 20+ carries.

BYU -3.5 vs East Carolina o/u 63.5
The Play: Over 63.5
Jaren Hall hasn’t been lighting it up exactly but he did just have to throw against Notre Dame, Arkansas, and Liberty. These two starting quarterbacks have accounted for 40 touchdowns and only 8 interceptions to start the year. ECU isn’t going up against a Tulane-esce defense and we just ran through BYU’s recent foes. This is a game that should open up for two teams that want to play at tempo. Both starting running backs don’t get a workhorse amount but they both are involved and are averaging 6+ ypc. Look for BYU to return to the 38 point total they are accustomed to when not playing a good defense and ECU to get 30+ when they arent playing a team like NC State or Tulane.

Vikings -4 vs Cardinals o/u 49
The Play: Over 49
Lets highlight both of these offenses. The Vikings are coming off of a bye week and are coached by a great young offensive mind. There’s times this season where they move Justin Jefferson all over the field and scheme him. I fully expect out of a bye week for Jefferson to be a focal point. The bye week also allowed Dalvin Cook and his shoulder to rest. Cook has yet to have a 100+ yard rushing game so he is due to break off a 40+ yard rushing touchdown. Its no surprise everything fell into line for the Cardinals with Deandre Hopkins’ PED return. Murray didn’t just look more comfortable, the run game was also able to open up because of the attention on Hopkins. Eno Benjamin was getting 7.7 yards a carry and James Connor should be back this week to add to that run game. Both offenses have no excuse not to put up 25+.
Vikings 31 Cardinals 28
Texans +2 vs Titans o/u 40.5
The Play: Titans -2
UGH. Never pick a road divisional favorite but it’s the one win Texans who beat the Jags 13-6 vs the 4 game win streak Titans who are hitting their stride. Derrick Henry took a few weeks to warm up and he is back to his King self reaching the 100 yard mark the last three games. He’ll go up against one of the worst run defenses in Houston, a storm too good to be true. Writing this on Thursday afternoon, I don’t know if Ryan Tannehill or Malik Willis is starting at quarterback. The Titans are throwing for 150 yards a game the last three and still won them all, just dont turn it over. Tannehill is 15-3 against the AFC South his last 18 games, the Titans own the division and I see them marching on.
Titans 24 Texans 17
Browns +3.5 vs Bengals o/u 47
The Play: Over 47
Another offense hitting their stride is the Bengals. They put up 30+ the last two weeks and the Browns defense is giving up 28.5 during their four game losing streak. The Bengals have a very good running back in Joe Mixon but when you have Burrow and these three receivers they are doing the right thing in being pass-first. The Bengals are at their best when Tyler Boyd is involved. You can’t double team Ja’Marr Chase or Tee Higgins when Boyd is cooking in the slot, and on top of that also worrying about Mixon. The Browns have unleashed Nick Chubb. Having Chubb and Hunt is a great duo but highlighting Chubb with either Hunt or D’Ernest Johnson is just better for the team. Chubb is the best runner in the league and is keeping drives alive. Oh and its a Browns home game so Amari Cooper will get either 100+ yards or a touchdown. When the Browns are at home Brissett is bringing it so Brissett and Chubb will lead to points.
Bengals 30 Browns 24
This should be an interesting NFL week! I rarely bet overs but these two spoke to me and I feel gross about picking a road divisional fav. But hey, its a gamble!
Thank you,
Goose
