Genesis 2020

Whats up guys? Admittingly, I don’t have too much background on DFS for the PGA Tour. I love the sport though and if I’m not watching I’m checking the leaderboards especially if Tiger is playing. I’m looking forward to watching this Sunday so I decided lets get a little lineup out there and see if this turns to something. I need something to write about with no more NFL/NCAAF, and a slumping NCAAB for me.

I look forward to doing more research when I have the time on ways to build a DFS lineup. But I went with two studs that I wanted to build around. I also see this tournament prefers some long bombers so I put some heavy hitters in the lineup. So BOL everybody, and let me know who you’re backing this week.

*Prices are from DraftKings and their $50,000 budget*

Jon Rahm ($11200) Jon Rahm is playing some great golf this year and could be his breakout year capped off with his first major victory. Rahm is avoiding big numbers, and is constantly getting in the top 10. He is very pricy but you can count on him to get you points. Rahm isn’t the longest hitter like desired, but he’s playing too good for me to not start with him.

Dustin Johnson ($10000) DJ is built for this course. He has one win and two runner ups in the last five years and I don’t see why he cant add on that. For all the love Brooks has gotten in the last two years, DJ has been right behind him. DJ just hasn’t won the big ones so he rightfully so hasn’t gotten the super spotlight. DJ will make this longer course look short with his bombs, and I’d consider him the favorite to win.

Sungjau Im ($8000) This 21 year old has potential to be a force in the future, well he already has the game to be a force now. Im fits my mold for this weekend, he hits a long ball, and is more comfortable then most with his long irons. Im will give himself chances to make birdies this week, just gonna need to be on the right side of the roll. Im is 13th in putts per round which is partially due to him getting close making his putts easier than the majority. Looking forward to seeing this 21 year old rockstar blossom, and I think this has potential to be the start of it.

*Due to me loading up with a Rahm DJ combo, I’ll need these next three longshots to make the cut, and will need one top-10 out of the three*

Jason Kokrak ($7100) A second place in 2016, plus coming in 21st in the Farmers a few weeks ago, I like Kokrak’s chances. He is one of the longest hitters on tour rocking about a 313 yard average! What I like about Kokrak is his ability to hit from the rough on that second shot. He’s a loose cannon from the tee so as long as he gets it out there this week he should have his birdie chances. He had magic just four years ago here so hopefully he brings back that putter and remembers these greens.

Lanto Griffin ($6700) So I never heard of this dude until an hour ago, because he’s getting buzzed and I see why. The guy hits it deep and can putt. For some reason he doesn’t like his irons it looks like though which worries me. But what I also like is he’s in form. This season he’s 4th in the FedEx Cup rankings, has 1 win and three top 10s! Well, for clarity he missed the cut in the Farmers and Waste Management so he was in form I should say. Lets get that magic back, make a cut, and have a chance!

Luke List ($6600) Luke List is oddly one of my favorite golfers. The guy had a nice run in 2017 and 2018 early in the season, and well, we’re early in the 2020 season! List can drive it with the best of them, but really struggles around the greens and putting. I have no stats to believe he will putt well, but when doing DFS, I feel you have to throw some darts to come out on top. He made the cut at the Waste Management and Farmers his last two starts, lets get three in a row. C’mon Luke!

Well, good luck again to all!

Thank you,
Goose
