Week 6

The Korner was on a tear as of late! Look … I’m going to skip an intro and get straight to business. Last week wasn’t pretty. Run it.

Recap:
Illinois +14 at Minnesota – Miss. Minnesota 40 Illinois 17
Nebraska -7.5 vs Northwestern – Miss. Nebraska 13 Northwestern 10
Ohio State -20 vs Michigan State – HIT! Ohio State 34 Michigan State 10
Vikings -5.5 at Giants – HIT! Vikings 28 Giants 10
Ravens -3.5 at Steelers – Miss. Ravens 23 Steelers 20 …
Chargers -6.5 vs Broncos – Miss. Broncos 20 Chargers 13
Last week 2-4
NCAAF YTD 9-9
NFL YTD 12-3

Clemson -27 vs Florida State – Betting on big favorites is weird. I really don’t like it, and the backdoor cover is SOOOO common. FSU QB Hornibrook takes over for an injured James Blackmon and their offense starts clicking! So why bench Hornibrook after that run to play a banged up James Blackmon? On top of that, Clemson has to be due for a statement game, after almost losing to UNC right? I expect Trevor Lawrence to rally the troops and impose their will on FSU, as long as Blackmon remains the starter. They were 0-2-1 ATS with him, compared to 2-0 with Hornibrook for what its worth. Clemson 45 FSU 14

Arizona +6 vs Washington – There was once a time two year ago that people thought Khalil Tate could sneak in to the Heisman race eventually. He had a down Junior season but he’s back! The dual threat quarterback makes plays and has been leading Arizona to a good 4-1 record! We can get a shootout here as Eason and the Huskies usually have that offense clicking! Ultimately, I think Tate will make enough plays to keep this one close. This is the last game on Saturday, so if you are in an early hole, think Wildcats! Washington 35 Arizona 34

USF +5.5 vs BYU – Its Homecoming in South Florida as the USF Bulls take on the BYU Cougars! BYU comes in off a bye week, but they will be without their quarterback for this matchup. Pair that with the HoCo vibes, and I think we’ll have a nail biter on our hands. USF is pretty bad, they’ve bounced around quarterbacks this season themselves, but they did get a nice confidence boost last week beating up on UConn. USF can move the ball, and I think BYU is a little banged up, plus feeling low after losing at Toledo. I think BYU wins it, but the home crowd keeps it close. BYU 27 USF 23

Falcons -2.5 at Cardinals – The Falcons are the most disappointing team this season. They are 1-4 and on the brink of cleaning house. If they cant beat the Cardinals Quinn will most likely be fired, and the Falcons will have a wasted season. The Cardinals are 3-17-1 dating back to last season. I am a big Kyler Murray fan, and think eventually they will turn this around, but Sunday I don’t think is the day. Look for Julio and the falcons to eat, as Patrick Peterson is still suspended. The Cardinals still have to figure out that redzone offense anyways. Falcons 31 Cardinals 24

Redskins -3.5 at Dolphins – The game of the week! 0-5 Redskins take on the 0-4 Dolphins! Look, the Redskins canned their coach, and are just a mess. But honestly, they will be starting Case Keenum who wasn’t all that bad the first three weeks of the season. He moved the ball but fell apart at MetLife vs the Giants. Xavien Howard on the Dolphins is an elite corner, who should slow down Scary Terry McLaurin, but I still think the Skins can move the ball better. I mean … it would be great if this ends in a tie, even though the Korner would get it wrong, but give me the team who just fired their train wreck of a coach. Redskins 24 Dolphins 17

Vikings -3 vs Eagles – Man I don’t want to do this, but the Korner is on the Vikings for the third straight week! I wiffed on the Vikings Bears, but they looked good last week! Dalvin Cook is one of the most elite running backs in the NFL, right up there with Saquon, Zeke and McCaffrey. The Eagles secondary is in real trouble too. If Cousins plays with some swagger, Diggs and Theilin will feast Sunday. The key of the game will be if the Vikings defensive line can neutralize Wentz, and throw him off his game. The defense isn’t as elite as it was two years ago, but they are still full of talent. Look for the Vikings to grind this one out. Vikings 28 Eagles 23

Thank you,
Goose
