Week 2
Life is good. Opening week of the NFL the local watering hole had a cornhole tournament. I joined with my buddy the Ant Man who I highlighted last week. We went to Jacksonville last year for Jags Jets and played some cornhole at the Jax Beach bars. We held our own won some games lost a few! So we had the chemistry and the confidence heading in to Sunday. We fought and climbed all the way to the semi finals! Our magical run ended there thoughL. Honestly, it was okay cause when we lost it was 1:05 and I needed to be in front of 10 TVs to watch the games! “Co-Commish” and his brother-in-law who is also in the League of Lakers took home the W. I was happy for them!
Friday I am flying out to Houston for my first college roommate’s bachelor party! Man, I cant wait. I haven’t seen the dude in a long time and I cant wait to catch up with everyone! I hate the heat and am definitely not looking forward to the 100 degree sauna. Want to talk about perfect timing? The Jaguars will be in Houston this weekend! I’m going to be lit at the game I might rush order a Gardner Minshew jersey. This dude is the real deal, he is so confident and so accurate. I wont Kowals Korner the Jags game, but if Minshew dosnt turn the ball over its game over Sacksonville is getting that win!
After being sick earlier in the week, and needing to pack for Houston, lets just cut to the chase. Action!
Recap:
Michigan -23 vs Army – Miss. Michigan 24 Army 21
Texas A&M +18 at Clemson – HIT! Clemson 24 Texas A&M 10
Eastern Michigan +15.5 at Kentucky – Miss. Kentucky 38 Eastern Michigan 17
Colts +6.5 at Chargers – HIT! Chargers 30 Colts 24
Cardinals +2.5 vs Lions – HIT! Cardinals 27 Lions 27
49ers pk at Bucs – HIT! 49ers 31 Bucs 17
NCAAF 2-4 NFL 3-0
Houston +9.5 vs Washington State – Gardner Minshew II left his legacy at Wazzu but I don’t think Wazzu will be a ranked team right now despite the #22 ranking. Houston has been a little disappointing but D’Eriq King is waiting for his moment. Their offense is very fast paced with the dual threat QB and a great rushing attack. I think if they punch Wazzu in the mouth early, the home crowd can take over. Ultimately, Leach scores and perfected the air raid. Wazzu comes up with a late tud and gets the dub. Washington State 45 Houston 38
Temple +7 vs Maryland – I got to be honest with yall, I did not expect this Maryland start this hot. They look dominant! Temple is tuff though and Russo can spin it. They have a newer identity with Russo and can light up the scoreboard. They also have a good defense and I really like New Jersey native Harrison Hand. Maryland has a great offense but Temple can contain them with their speedy defense. We’ll need Hand to have good hands and get the INT! Temple 31 Maryland 30
Oklahoma -23 at UCLA – Oklahoma is really good, but 23 points is A LOT on the road. This one scares me for sure, but lets face it, UCLA just cant score. Oklahoma’s bad defense can probably even hold them to just 21 points. I expect Oklahoma to continue to be sharp. Jalen Hurts just wants to win it, and it seems like he honestly doesn’t care about the Heisman. But I do, and right now the Heisman is in his hands. Oklahoma continues to roll and look for another birth in the playoffs. Oklahoma 52 UCLA 21
Bills -1.5 at Giants – The biggest factor here will be which offensive line makes the QB’s lives easier. The Bills are led by Rahway’s Own Dion Dawkins and he’s going to be cooking Mac And Cheese all day against the Giants lack of pass rush! This will allow Josh Allen some time to find people like Smokey Brown for another 100 yard game. The Bills defense is no joke either. Nobody is stopping Saquon, but they sure as heck can contain the receivers and Evan Engram. Bills start 2-0 both wins at Metlife, making them the Kings of New York. Bills 24 Giants 21
49ers +1.5 at Bengals – The 49ers could have blown out the Bucs last week. What hurt was my fantasy tight end George Kittle had TWO touchdowns called back, and they came away with 7 points instead of 14 those drives. The Bengals almost went in to Seattle and got a dub, but I don’t expect them to be that good of a team. The Niners are tough and shouldn’t be underdogs Sunday. 49ers 28 Bengals 23
Chiefs -7 at Raiders – This has to be a trap. So, the Raiders had a great week 1. But, I will temper expectations. Crowds are always ELECTRIC on opening week, but this is Raiders second home gam this season. The Chiefs are wild. They will replace Ty Hill with Mecole Hardman and DeAnthony Thomas. They have SPEED everywhere. The Raiders will be without their #1 corner Conley, and rookie safety Abram. There is no way Derek Carr can compete with Mahomes and the boys. But this has to be a trap right? Oh well. Chiefs 34 Raiders 21
