Chapter 13

**Disclaimer – This article was written and submitted on Wednesday, December 5. It is published on the usual, Friday at noon.**

Lately, I’ve been feeling under the weather, coughing and sneezing constantly. Nothing major, and I am sure it is related to the seasons changing. I’ve also had this knot in my back for a solid week. It is probably related to me not being physically active enough to be honest. I’ve also had episodes with dizziness the past couple of months. This is probably a hydration issue if I had to guess. I proudly lost thirty pounds now since the summer, but I really should take care of my body better.

I’m young, and I never plan on growing up, but one day don’t we all get old? There will be a day where there is no shot I am going north during the winter months. That time is FAR away, and Thursday I am taking a trip up to Boston! On Tuesday, my best friend, the Chef, asked if I wanted to come with him for a couple days to Boston. Right when we get there on Thursday we are going straight to the lesser of two gardens, the TD Garden, to see the Knicks take on the Celtics!

With Porzingis still sidelined, the Knicks lack marketable players but are at least full of youth. The Celtics on the other hand, have plenty and are headlined by Kyrie Irving. Some would say Kyrie belongs in Boston because he’s always been a Celtic. Kyrie played his high school ball for the St. Patrick Celtic, in Elizabeth NJ. His senior year he wore #11, his current number for the Boston Celtics. Rumor has it; the Chef will be rocking a St. Patrick Celtic Kyrie jersey Thursday night! The TD Garden is no Madison Square Garden though, which is where the Knicks play. With Kyrie’s impending free agency, maybe he will be auditioning for his new team, and come home to play for the Knicks.

Any suggestions what the chef and I should do for the other two nights in Boston?!

No more games. Kowals Korner has finally made a twitter account for sports picking. It’s time to dial in to my sources and give the people winners. You could follow me @KowalsKorner, focusing more on basketball picks since the lines usually don’t come out till the day of.

#20 Arizona State vs. #7 Nevada – Even though I don’t have the line, I am very passionate on this basketball game. Tipoff is slated for 11:59pm Friday night in Los Angeles so make sure to have your coffee later in the day to stay up. Nevada is an excellent team, led by the Martin twins. Arizona State, in my opinion, has the advantage on the coaching end. Bobby Hurley was born to lead college programs. His father is a Hall-of-Fame high school coach for St Anthony’s in Jersey City, and his brother is the coach of the UConn Huskies. Arizona State has some of the best depth in the nation, having five players average more than 10 points, and one who averages 9. The key to this game could be Hurley setting his team up with more “easy baskets” out of timeouts with set plays.

Army -7 vs. Navy – Is it possible for a team to lose in these jerseys? Army comes in this rivalry matchup with one of the best uniforms in the nation. #NiceDrip Army has won the last two showdowns as the underdogs. This week the 9-2 Army Knights come in as the superior team. Navy has had a great stretch recently but this year struggled to a 3-9 record. They both run similar offenses running the ball 95% of the time. The difference this year has been Army’s defense. They held Oklahoma to 28 points when they lost 28-21 way back in September. #GoArmyBeatNavy

Browns vs. Panthers Over 47 – One of my buddies relocated to Cleveland. He went to school there and found a job right after. During Thanksgiving break, he came back to the local watering hole. I asked him if it is depressing that LeBron left Cleveland. Instead of mentioning basketball, he told me Baker Mayfield is the King of Cleveland now. There is buzz in that city, and Baker deserves it. The #1 overall pick is having a good start to his NFL career. The Panthers on the other hand, have lost four straight games. Once looking like a Super Bowl contender, the Panthers are fighting just to make the playoffs. I don’t expect Cam Newton to turn the ball over four times this week, so I will take the over!
Panthers 27 Browns 24 (51)

Saints -8 at Bucs – Back in week 1, the Bucs upset the Saints. The Saints went on to win ten straight games before falling last week to the Cowboys. I expect Drew Brees and the gang to get right back on track this week, getting their revenge on the Bucs. Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara have been very quiet the past two weeks. I would know, because me and my pops lost our last two fantasy matchups, where we are led by Thomas and Kamara. No better time to turn it back up then against one of the weaker defenses in the NFL. The Bucs will put up a fight, but I think the Saints pull away late.
Saints 34 Bucs 23

Eagles +3.5 at Cowboys – Is there anyone hotter than the Dallas Cowboys? And yet, I am not fully sold. This team is the Jaguars from last year. A conservative offense with a stellar defense. The Eagles will play their third straight division matchup, winning the previous two. Carson Wentz is slowly returning to his self after last year’s injury and the offense is beginning to click. He is one of the few quarterbacks who could do damage against this defense. I expect this game to be a nail-biter, and giving up more than a field goal is too much for me. #FlyEaglesFly
Eagles 23 Cowboys 21
